Hasselblad has just released the ultra-light XCD 4/45P digital medium format lens. Weighing in at just 320g (0.7 lbs) and measuring only 47mm (1.85 in), Hasselblad claims that this 45mm f/4 lens is “the world’s lightest digital medium format autofocus lens on the market today.”
In case it’s not already obvious, the new X System lens is all about achieving a new level of portability without sacrificing image quality. The 35mm full-frame equivalent lens is made up of 9 elements in 7 groups, including 2 aspherical elements, resulting in “state-of-the art optical performance within compact dimensions” for shooters of Hasselblad’s X1D cameras.
Additionally, the XCD 45P boasts a minimum focus distance of just 35cm (13.8 in), a maximum magnification ratio of 1:5.2, a mechanically connected focus ring for a tactile shooting feel, a quiet new AF motor, and a more quiet leaf shutter that allows for flash sync up to 1/2000s.
